The second Parish Forum was held on Sunday 23rd May 2010 in The Parish Centre. Baroness Nuala O’Loan and Fr Alan McGuckian, S.J. facilitated the forum which was based on reflections and discussions on the topic “I believe in the Catholic Church?”
The speakers adopted a conversation approach to the topic and asked for frank open discussion. They began by giving a brief input on the issue of “What is the Church I believe in?” The forum broke into small groups to discuss what they had heard and then gave feedback in the large group on what is the Church. Fr McGuckian and Baroness O’Loan then provided a personal reflection on “What is it about the Church that I cannot live without?” and again asked the forum for responses to this question.
Members of the parish council took notes on the evening and prepared a record of the meeting, which can be viewed here.

In the footsteps of Jesus
The Holy Land must surely be the most desired of all Christian pilgrims. Countless millions of pilgrims have continuously journeyed to this land – during the bad times as well as the good – and still do, over the two millennia of Christian history. Since the first day of that empty tomb – where a miraculous Resurrection from a cruel and dishonourable death was witnessed and reported – pilgrims have gone to that sacred spot to ponder, wonder and believe. Here, pilgrims seek to walk in the very footsteps of the Lord, to visit and meditate in those places where Jesus lived and carried out his ministry.
Contact will be made in the coming week with pilgrims regarding the Balance. There will be a meeting for Pilgrims in St Anne’s regarding arrangements on: Tuesday, 24th August at 7.00 pm.
Fr Gregory Collins, a native of Belfast, and a monk of the Benedictine Abbey of Glenstal will lead the parish prayerful reflections on the evenings of 19th, 20th and 21st September.
