Sunday, January 20th, 2008

The nature and dignity of the Liturgical Assembly

Monday, October 29th, 2007

The Christian assembly and its liturgy have a number of essential characteristics which need to be understood. In particular the designer needs to consider that:
- The worshippers are a priestly people;
- Within the worshipping assembly the priest has an essential role: to preside over the assembly in the person of Christ;
- The entire assembly celebrated the liturgy;
- Within the assembly there is a variety of functions;
- Christ is present in every celebration of the liturgy;
- The worshippers are a united people;
- Liturgical celebration engages the whole person, body as well as spirit;

- The spirit of the liturgical celebration is one of festivity;
- In the liturgy the Christian community celebrates and fosters the victory of Christ in all those who in any way struggle to overcome self-seeking, enmity and indifference to others and strive to build a new society of concern and of peace on this earth.

The Nature and Dignity of the Baptismal Font

Monday, October 8th, 2007

The Baptismal Font, which contains the Baptismal Water, must be designed and located with the utmost care. In regard to location it may be noted that the entrance to the Church is a particular significance in relation to Baptism, the first step in our “entrance” or initiation into the Christian family, the people of God, the Church. 79 Volunteers with a real sense of Parish Spirit delivered to Parishioners the material concerning the Fund Raising Campaign for St Anne’s Church. They have greatly helped in making it possible for the Campaign to be successful. A really “BIG” Thank-you to each volunteer.

Those who consider themselves part of St Anne’ s Parish but don’t live within the actual boundaries of the Parish, and wish to be included in our Fund Raising campaign, please contact the parish office.
