Our Church – The Reconciliation Room

Perhaps better known as the Confessional, it is the place in the church where penitents individually confess their sins and are absolved in the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Penance).
This is the Sacrament of loving welcome and forgiveness on the part of God, of sorrow and joyful return on the part of the penitent, and reconciliation through and with the community of the Church. (more…)

The Latin verb “oriri” means “to rise” and refers particularly to the rising of the sun. From “oriri” the Latin noun “oriens” is derived, meaning “The East”, (The sun rises in the east, hence “The Orient”). To orientate means to turn towards the east. (more…)

Our Church – The Paschal Candle

This is the large wax candle blessed at the beginning of the Easter Vigil and lit from the Paschal Fire and solemnly carried into the darkened Church and from which everyone in the congregation light their Easter Candles. (more…)
